Warning: Major spoilers ahead for Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
I finally got the chance to see Spider-Man: Brand New Day, and I’ve got to say—I had a great time.
After No Way Home, I wasn’t quite sure where Marvel was going to take Peter Parker. Instead of trying to top the multiverse chaos of the last movie, Brand New Day brings the focus back to Peter, reminding us why he’s one of Marvel’s most relatable heroes.
That said, I haven’t been able to stop thinking about this movie since I left the theater. Here are the seven moments, reveals, and questions that have stuck with me the most.
1. Peter Finally Feels Like Spider-Man Again
One of my favorite things about this movie is how grounded it feels.
Peter isn’t saving the universe. He’s trying to protect his neighborhood, balance everyday life, and figure out who he is without relying on the Avengers. It reminded me why I fell in love with Spider-Man in the first place.
Don’t get me wrong—I loved No Way Home. But it was nice to see Peter back to being the friendly neighborhood Spider-Man.
2. Jean Grey’s MCU Debut Changes Everything
Ever since Sadie Sink joined the cast, fans have been speculating that she was playing Jean Grey—and it turns out they were right.
Even though the rumors had been circulating for months, seeing Jean Grey officially make her MCU debut still felt like a huge moment. But what really has me thinking is what this means for the future of the X-Men.
With several actors from Fox’s original X-Men films already confirmed to appear in Avengers: Doomsday, it feels like Marvel is finally laying the groundwork for mutants to become a major part of the MCU. Is Jean the bridge between those legacy characters and Marvel’s future version of the X-Men? Or is this just the first step toward introducing an entirely new team?
Whatever Marvel has planned, I have a feeling we’re only scratching the surface.
3. I Wasn’t Expecting the Punisher to Be One of My Favorite Parts
Going into the movie, I figured Spider-Man and the new villains would steal the show.
Instead, I found myself wanting even more of Frank Castle.
Jon Bernthal slips right back into the role like he never left, and every scene between him and Peter worked for me. They couldn’t be more different, but that’s exactly what made their interactions so interesting. Peter is always looking for another way, while Frank sees things in black and white.
If this is just the beginning of the Punisher’s return to the MCU, I’m all in.
4. That Post-Credit Scene Has Me Counting Down to Avengers: Doomsday
Of course Marvel couldn’t let us leave without one more tease.
The post-credits scene raises some huge questions about Spider-Man’s future and strongly hints that his next stop may not even be Earth. It certainly feels like Marvel is positioning Peter for a much bigger role in what’s coming next.
5. Peter and MJ Still Have My Heart
Even after everything that’s happened, I still find myself rooting for these two.
Their relationship has been through more than almost any couple in the MCU, and while this movie doesn’t magically fix everything, it reminds us why fans have been so invested in them from the beginning.
I’m still holding out hope that Peter gets his happy ending someday.
6. Marvel Finally Has a Fresh Start
What I appreciate most about Brand New Day is that it doesn’t feel weighed down by everything that came before it.
Yes, the events of No Way Home still matter, but this movie feels like the beginning of a brand-new chapter for Peter Parker.
New characters. New challenges. New possibilities.
It feels like Marvel has given Spider-Man a fresh start without forgetting everything that made us care about him.
7. I Already Want to Watch It Again
Maybe that’s the biggest compliment I can give this movie.
As soon as it ended, I was already thinking about all the little details I probably missed the first time around. Between the action, the emotional moments, and the hints about what’s coming next, this feels like one of those Marvel movies that’s even better on a second watch.
I know I’ll be back in the theater before long.
Final Thoughts
Spider-Man: Brand New Day isn’t trying to be the biggest or craziest MCU movie ever made—and I think that’s exactly why it works.
It puts Peter Parker back at the center of the story while planting the seeds for what’s next, both for Spider-Man and the MCU as a whole.
