A prequel to the hit series Outlander is in development at Starz. The show, titled Outlander: Blood of my Blood, will center around the love story of Jamie Frazer’s parents Ellen MacKenzie and Brian Frazer.
Matthew B. Roberts who is the Outlander showrunner joins prequel as writer and executive producer. Additionally, Maril Davis and Ronald D. Moore will also serve as EPs, while author Diana Gabaldon will act as a consulting producer.
“Outlander is a riveting show that, from season to season, has captured the hearts of its fans around the world. We are excited to peel back the layers of this vibrant world to bring our audience the origin of where it all began. Matthew, Maril and Ronald will continue to bring their excellent vision and creativity to this new iteration, and we can’t wait to see what happens next,” Kathryn Busby (president of original programming at Starz), said in a statement.
Season 7 of Outlander is currently in production.
